About me

My name is Tom, I have been a locksmith all my working career. In January 1998 I began working at Key and Lock Supplies, Bournemouth on Saturday mornings. I found it very interesting and enjoyed working with my hands, the precise technical nature of the trade suited me. I finished school that summer and began working their full time.

Working for a busy locksmiths shop I was lucky enough to experience many different aspects of the trade and obtain various skills, such as identifying and cutting thousands of keys, making keys by hand to many different types of lock, repairing various locks and mechanisms in the workshop, moving and installing safes all over the country, designing and building complicated master keyed systems for local councils, schools and hotels. A large part of my work which I really enjoyed was vehicle keys and ignition locks, I was able to build up a thorough understanding and in depth knowledge of all vehicle locks and keys which has now became one of my main specialisms.

After 12 years of service, I felt the time was right and was confident enough to start my own business, in 2010 I setup my company Tom Bowman Ltd.
Since starting Tom Bowman Ltd its been so important that I offer the best expert advice, provide an honest, reliable, professional service with the highest quality workmanship to all my customers.
